Create Content On A Daily Basis As A Habit.
Making content should be no different from how you brush your teeth every day or put on a fresh set of clothes (ideally). And that doesn't entail working nonstop to complete additional jobs for clients. You must, more crucially, make things for yourself.
Your originality and talent are what make up your freelance business and personal brand, therefore don't let that suffer during the course of your daily activities.Instead, develop the practise of producing content each day to further your success. Here's how to get started:Make a social media post Once you awakenWhat do you do as soon as you wake up? I assume you check your phone. So, take advantage of it.I've been managing an Instagram account for PSPOETS, a company I founded, for the past few years.
I publish something as soon as I wake up and as soon as I fall asleep every day. As of this writing, we are getting close to 10K followers, all through organic development without the use of paid advertising or follower purchases. I spend more time on my personal Instagram account to share topics I find interesting now that the account is performing so well. In fact, I only began one a month ago, but by adhering to the same guidelines, I've already attracted a few hundred followers—simple!
The idea is that simply sharing a short piece of content on social media, you've already produced content that promotes your artistic abilities and brand. You may carry that momentum over to other tasks throughout the day because it establishes the tone for your daily productivity.Create Short-form Material All Day After my morning coffee and rushing to finish a blog post for a client, I concentrate on producing short-form content all day long.
Anything that you can produce in a minute or two is considered short-form. For instance, I'm a big proponent of using LinkedIn to meet clients and promote my freelance business. Having said that, I have a habit of sharing previously published pieces and posting sporadic observations or ideas about hot issues or news stories. These are things I can make in a matter of seconds that spread quickly and show that you're engaged with the outside world.
In addition to LinkedIn, TikTok has grown to be a fun, original platform for publishing short-form video content on the go. My sister introduced me to it, and now whenever I find a 15-second soundbite from a movie I enjoy, I post a lipsync video to it, which instantly receives hundreds of likes. The films may then be simply saved so that I can share them again on Instagram Stories or turn them into GIFs to post on Twitter.
I've created five or six pieces of content already for the public to interact with, and that in and of itself becomes quite useful as you market your brand and network with other artists and possible customers.
Concentrate On Content In The Background
Beyond the work you do each day for clients, your own objectives and passions are driven by the content you focus on behind the scenes. Poems are something I produce every day but no one sees. I find the time to sit down and write one every day, and I have already produced more than 100 brand-new ones this year alone. Then, in an effort to win prizes or have my work published, I look into writing competitions and magazines across the nation to submit to. These are genuine pieces of content that feed my personal ambitions and continue to have an impact on my life as an artist and freelancer; they are not poems I create to post on Instagram or discard on Facebook.
I implore you to produce personal behind-the-scenes stuff that is crucial to your own growth as a person in your own life. Of course, creating infographics for customers or writing blog articles pays the bills, but in order to develop and realise your goals, you must make time for your true passions. Additionally, the finished work can still be distributed anyway you like.
The reality is that you create things every day, and that rhythm is what enables you to produce better work within a predetermined amount of time for both your clients and yourself.
